Changing My Username
Jul. 11th, 2010 11:19 amSo, I'm buying a rename token and in a few minutes will hopefully be kittysorceress, to match up with my email/twitter/youtube/everything.
This makes me a little sad, but... yay! Rename!

Pairing(s): Remus/Sirius, Remus/OMC, Remus/Tonks friendship
Summary: After the events of Halloween 1981, Remus Lupin finds himself alone. This is the story of how the world did not end that day and Remus learned to live with his Black Dog.
Warnings: This story contains musings on depression and anxiety. Also, I discovered that I am a lesbian who is deathly afraid of actually writing m/m sex scenes.
Word Count: 9450 (this part 3760)
Author's Notes: I have to admit, my writing style has suffered overexposure to the Ovidian practice of the tricolon and to the distinctly Mallorian style of parataxis - the result of a stimulating Classical education. My complusive need to switch POV is unexplainable, though my beta

an historic day
Jun. 24th, 2010 01:15 pm
Australia now has its first female Prime Minister, Julia Gillard. Despite my disagreements with a great deal of her politics, I can't help but be proud of her. I also feel a little sorry for Rudd, especially when he got teary during his final address.
In years to come, people will say "Where were you on the 24th of June, 2010?"
Well, I have had a grand total of 3 hours sleep. I woke up early and watched Australia's fantastic performance in the football, all the while wondering what would happen 2km west at 9am. I found out about the result of the meeting while cleaning mould from the fridge in our new office at work. Ew. I was home in time to see the press conferences.
Today is the day my parents get their new house today, too! Such an exciting day.
I'm proud to be an Australian woman.
... the female pop star.
Let me preface my discussion with THIS amazing vlog by the Nostaglia Chick.
I would then like to say just how much awesome love I feel towards Lady Gaga. Who isn't even in a genre I would listen to. Who is nothing like what I would usually chose to listen to. Who is fashion and ego personified.
I would then like to thank a number of people on my friendslist for their amazing Gaga love.
I would then like to question why a number of my Sydney-once-friends hate Gaga for "unoriginality" and "no fashion sense" and "avant garde for simpletons who have absolutely no taste in music and fashion". lol, wat?
And to be honest, I'm way more a fan of Regina Spektor or Kate Miller-Heidke. But I sort of see Gaga as the Madonna to their Kate Bush. And there is no reason you can't like both!
Think about it. You know it works.

Besides. Have you seen this fierce bitch? I'd hit that.
Vincent and the Doctor
Jun. 6th, 2010 09:55 amIt annoyed me a little that this felt like a "filler" episode between the main story arc action, but otherwise this was just a fantastic episode.
( SPOILERS )
All in all, very layered, very good.
It's a funny old language...

Where you grew up: Australia in general: mostly Canberra, with a few years each in Sydney, Townsville(far north Queensland) and Brisbane. Two years of infancy in New Zealand doesn't count.

Captain's Personal Log: Commander Spock and myself have discovered that we have, in fact, been under the influence of some strange lust-inducing pollen for quite some time now. It has resulted in some... strange feelings. Dr McCoy seems skeptical about the whole affair, but it is of no concern to us, as Spock and I have concluded to resolve these feelings in private...
- Singing about Pliny and Vesuvius, then looking up volcano myths
- Trying to then pass off the volcano myths as study for CLAS2002, but really it's just for the Vulcan lols
- From there, looking at a debate on one comm as to who would win a battle - Klingons or Spartans (I'm pretty sure that Herodotos never mentioned Klingons)
- Contemplating the working relationship versus the personal relationship between Cicero and Atticus, rather than writing an essay on Cicero's letter-writing style
- Working on this rather than my Athenian Law essay

And that's all in the past 2 hours.
